The Government of the State of Qatar, represented by the New Port Project Steering Committee (NPP SC) has embarked on a major programme to develop a new port approximately 25 kilometers south of Doha.

Port Authority Control Tower Building in Hamad Port near Doha, Qatar, with its ground-breaking design, redefine the characteristics of a modern 21st century port. PLP Architecture has provided the thematic design as well as architectural and interior services for this iconic signature building which is the main center for marine control and support services.


卡塔尔多哈附近哈马德港口的港口管理局指挥塔大楼,具有开创性的设计,重新定义了21世纪现代港口的特征。 PLP Architecture为这座标志性的标志建筑提供了主题设计以及建筑和室内服务,这是海洋控制和服务支持的主要中心。

The lighting solution was delivered by Lighting group Qatar, with Nova-lux company as a partner on this project in charge of light calculations and 3D light visualizations. On a computer 3D model of the object, precise light calculations were made incorporating realistic characteristics of optics. Those light calculations were a challenge to make due to specific and custom made light fixtures incorporated within the metal structure. Various optics and lighting scenes were tested and simulated on 3D model. Linear LED light fixtures were used with the neutral white color of light. With the implementation of this highly innovative light solution, this unique facade of the Control Tower is accentuated enhancing its impressive structure.
