As the gateway to Peking University’s Shenzhen campus, the School of Transnational Law building facilitates innovative ways of study and collaboration in a form that reflects the program’s unique approach to legal education.
坐落于三角形基地内的两座条形建筑可供法学院各类学术课程使用，并设置了集中的、露台式集会空间，或“学习阶梯”，通过一系列富于变化的楼梯、露天座位和休息区将各层连接起来。面向主校区，朝北的五层高楼包含大部分教室、办公室和研究场所。朝南的较窄条形建筑则面向河道和山景，内设小型研讨室、私密办公室、休息区。整座大楼采用木隔板打造温馨、大小适宜的封闭空间，提供私密的座位区同时形成独特的视点。
Two bars within a triangular site accommodate the school’s mixed academic program and form a centralized, terraced gathering space, or “study cascade,” that links each level through a series of variegated stairs, bleachers, and lounges. Fronting the main campus at five stories, the taller, north-facing bar contains the majority of classrooms, offices and research spaces. The narrow, southern bar, which faces the river and offers views of the mountains, comprises smaller seminar rooms, private offices, and break-out spaces. Throughout, wooden screens form warm, human-scaled enclosures, providing privacy and seating while framing unique viewpoints.
在主题上，外部体形体现了法律的两面性，即所有法律问题都有多种不同观点。基于校园主要特征，北侧外立面采用白色陶土元素，配以彩色陶土和深色砖块。更加有机的南侧外立面则以大面积玻璃学习空间为轮廓。
Thematically, the exterior massing communicates “the two sides of the law,” the notion that there are multiple points of view on all legal questions. Relating to the predominant campus character, the north façade utilizes white terracotta elements enlivened by colored terracotta and dark brick. The more “organic” south façade is defined in large part by the glazed form of the study cascade.
视觉上和谐的立面重新诠释了中国传统的灰色石板和砖块建筑风格，基于被动通风充分利用南方强烈的光照。项目有效促进师生之间的互动，并向全世界传达学院使命，同时在新建汇丰商学院旁增加了令人印象深刻的校园元素。
The façade’s visual harmony reinterprets traditional Chinese, grey slate and brick architecture, articulated as different textures and patterns that take advantage of strong southern light through passive ventilation. Overall, the project promotes social interaction between students and faculty to communicate the school’s global mission to the world, while offering an impressive campus addition alongside the new HSBC Business School.
