CMG Dalian Tower is located on prime real estate with unobstructed views of the Dalian Bay Ocean, the mountains, and the old city district. The tower’s surrounding district consists of an office complex, an exhibition center, where an annual Davos event is held, and a famous square with a musical fountain, which is a popular destination for locals. The project started with an internal collaboration and design competition with other Gensler offices — including Beijing, Shanghai, London, and Washington D.C. Gensler Beijing’s local experience with China Merchant Group, a prestigious government-owned company, and in-depth research, provided the advantage to design a 250-meter office tower that is striking, iconic, and sophisticated.
